P&D 2026
Imagine & reimagine
The 16th Brazilian Congress on Research and Development in Design (P&D Design 2026) will be held in Recife, a city that synthesizes the tensions and potential of contemporary design: between the local and the global, the popular and the technological, memory and innovation.
The submissions for R&D 2026 are organized into thirteen thematic areas. At the time of submission, we ask that authors select the area that best represents the central focus of their work. Interdisciplinary research is welcome. It is recommended to clearly state the contributions to the field of design. Below is a map showing the allocation of thematic areas.
The 16th Brazilian Congress on Research and Development in Design highlights the importance of diverse knowledge and academic rigor, recognizing design as a transformative practice. Let's connect the future we desire to what we begin to build now with R&D 2026. As sung by Chico Science & Nação Zumbi (1994), "One step forward and you're no longer in the same place."
